I love this device. It's even better than my Kindle2. (it's still working fine so gave it to my partner) It's intuitive and easy to use. I just can't stand trying to read for hours on a backlit screen so the Kindle Fire was definitely out. Love it, great job Amazon!

It is surprising to me that very few people here mentioned or complained about the screen flickering when you turn a page or do some menu functions on the Kindle device. To me, it's very uncomfortable, to the point of unbearable. For this reason alone, I decided to return the Kindle device.

I was excited to get my kindle BUT when I tried to use it I was following the instructions on how to use it and ended up in the amazon store. Since I had not read all the instructions I did not know how to get back to the instructions nor how to get to the HOME PAGE. After trying everything that I could I finally stumbled on the Home Key.......and then found the User Guide. The next thing I noticed in using it over the first 2 days is that although it responds very easily to go to the next page or the previous page it does not react very well when you press Menu, nor the Arrow Key to go back,
